Third One...
The Hunt Pt 3, 1&2 can be seen on my blog if anyone is interested...
Important please read

Recently I have had a few people ask me what criteria must be met for membership into Sketchbook Allstars. At the risk of sounding like an elitist snob I then explain to them that entry into the group is achieved through invitation as it states in the header. However there have been a few initiates recently who have asked for and been granted membership. In all clubs there are rules and guidelines for membership as to maintain some semblance of structure so it does not dgrade into chaos. I will re-iterate for those who are unaware of our rules

1.You must be consistent in your involvement in the group. participation is essential. Members who are idle for 30 days are removed from the group. We are all using this blog group as a place to showcase our work. Those who don't contribute are free to create and manage their own blogs.

2. That you accept the challenges put forth on the blog. The purpose of this group is to be open to ideas that may lie outside our comfort zones, to broaden our horizons as individuals, and to promote growth.

3. If you cannot post art on a consistent basis, then at the very least make comments or constructive criticism on the work of other members and to be open to criticism.

4. And lastly, take ownership of this group. Help to promote us in any way you can. Through word of mouth or by posting our banner on the web etc.

Its friday. So on Fridays I'm going to Highlight cartoons that people may have slept on or just don't remember. I've posted a few in the past like the MC Hammer cartoon and the Proud Family DVD. Well here is a cartoon that got the boot from WB only after airing 4 episodes due to low ratings. I thought the show looked great. It wasn't as funny as proud family. I must also say after watching the first episode that I didn't think they thought out the story and the writing too much. I love the character designs on this show. the bio reads.

A hip-hop, sci-fi animated series following the intergalactic adventures of four orphans who are transported into a universe that strangely resembles a video game world that they've created. The creators of this show were also creators of Dave the Barbarian and The Proud Family. This show was nearly reported to go to Toon Disney but Kids' WB! won the bargain and bought it right away. All of these orphans have had a hard life so magically they are transported to the video game world with their many wishes. Life is hard here but they also get to find some incredible adventures and explore like a real video game character. Let your mind go through excitement in, Da Boom Crew!

Hello People. Hope every one is good. This is a great theme for this week! Alright here are my sketches for the this weeks theme. I really enjoyed doing these quick sketches in Pshop. I didnt have much time so I tried to keep them very simple. Focusing on Shape, Color and Design rather than detail. The story is simple. After Travelling a great distance. A young champion enters a sacred cavern to obtain a magical garment from a Goddess that will protect him from evil.

Cold world...

Another quick one...

This one I put together in about 2 hours. It's loosely based on a drawing I did back in highschool which at that time was inspired by a dream I had. I recently heard a poem which brought it back to me. The poem was about a lamenting African man whose wife was taken away from him. In the poem he cries out to the ocean to bring her back to him. I decided to make it at dawn which like dusk to me feels like the magic hour. At the last minute I decided to make the watery horizon cloudy so that he's looking out into a misty dawn.

It's been a minute. Hope this makes up for it!

This is for the martial arts blog that was posted a while back. I just happened to be working on a project called Sunset Flip about indie pro wrestling. You might not know this, but the style of pro wrestling was developed from Americas only true martial art, Catch Wrestling (or catch as catch can)! Martin "Farmer" Burns, the "Grandmaster of American Wrestling" is the father of this style that got it roots from Grecco Roman wrestling. He was born February 15, 1861, in a log cabin located in Springfield Township, Cedar County, Iowa. In the late 1800's he was a 165-pound man with a neck 20 inches around. Burns went on to become champion of America, even though he was a middle-weight. In his day, professional wrestling matches were, for the most part, real contests (but not always). Unlike amateur catch-as-catch-can (collegiate or freestyle wrestling), professional catch wrestling often had no time limit. He was a beast! Him and his students traveled the world beating everyone. His most famous student being Frank Gotch, called the "God of pro wrestling" in Japan.

Enjoy yall, peace!

In his blog Andre Moore recently wrote an artcle about the KRS One video animated by Kyle Baker. This is a great fusion for Hip Hop and comic art.

Hello Whats up people. My name is Jamal Otolorin. I am a freelance Animator working in Atlanta. I must Extend thanks to Brian Mcgee, Andre moore, and Dustin Bolton for encouraging me to get on the blog. There are some really good Artists on here.

Okay so I knew Dawud was gonna get down on the Capoeira, so I left that to him. I decided to do my Martial Arts sketches on the Nuba. The Nuba or Nubians are the largest of many non-Arab groups in Northern Sudan and are the descendents of the people of the Kush Empire of around the 8th century. Their style of martial arts appears to be open handed although Ive read that they have used weapons also.
