"Holding Down the Fort" . TBBT fan art

Yes, I'm still on that fan art kick.

This was done as a prize at the Sheldon/Penny community. They had a bunch of contests running this summer and I offered to help with the art requests. It's been great drawing practice this past summer. In this case, the winner requested an illustration of her fic found HERE.

For those who missed the Brotherman Comics Art Exhibition we premiered this short trailer and documentary teaser as a surprise element as well as a sneak preview the upcoming graphic novel. This piece was put together by the Big City Entertainment team in less than two weeks to make or deadline for the show. We finally posted it up for all to see and we hope you will enjoy and appreciate the love that went into this production. It is only a snippet of what is to come in the future. This was a rush job for the show and we want to fix and tweak alot of it.

The Brotherman Art Experience

.
For those of you who could not attend, here are some photos I took from the Brotherman Comics Art Experience on August 1st. The show was awesome as you might gather. The turn-out was great. The energy and enthusiasm that we received from the attendants was invigorating. These photos encapsulate the entire opening from the morning youth workshop to the evening event which included a libations pouring ceremony, team introduction, audience Q&A, Brotherman mock title sequence (soon to be posted) and the unveiling of the graphic novel cover art.
The Brotherman Comics Team consists of Dawud Anyabwile, Guy Sims, Sascha Sims, Maurice Novembre, Brian McGee, Dionne Turner, Samara Barks, and Ndosi Anyabwile.

Daily Exercises

This is what my sketchbook is looking like nowadays. Lot of hands and I have also gotten back to the figure drawing workshops. I draw my hands when I either don't have the time to make it to the drawing labs or don't want to pay every night of every week. My styles are changing rapidly and I have seen much growth in a short period of time. With that said - "Draw your hands as much as possible."

Victory at the Battle on the Bayou!

Siggraph Convention, New Orleans
The contest rules were as follows: Finish a digital painting in 20 minutes. The topic would be announced and styluses would be handed out at the start of the clock. We were judged by industry professionals based on the use of Photoshop technology, technique and relevance to the topic. It was done in the center of the convention center live in front of a crowd of convention attendants. There were about 7 other contestants. 20 Minutes never flew by so fast! The topics were Sports activity or persona. I chose boxing, the only sport I care about. The prize was a set of Bose earbuds and a legitimate (wink, nudge) copy of Photoshop CS4. The second topic was called "Under the sea" I painted a submersible illuminating the sea floor. A cloud of bubbles coming from the propellers. The first contest I was sure that I would win but the second victory was a real surprise. Grand prize, Macbook Pro 2.55GHz Intel Cor Duo with 4 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3
I never win anything so this is a rare occassion! I emailed the lady who presented the prize to see if I could get a copy of the actual paintings. I will post them as soon as I get them.
