Run
I drew this for this week's theme at Illustration Friday—Run. There are some anatomy issues with the guy, I know, but it was a fun experiment.
With the help of some friends, I have compiled a roster of talented artists to contribute to a weekly sketch jam by invitation only. Every week or so we will settle on an idea and will each take a stab at illustrating the concept. The level of completion can be anything from a rough sketch to a finished rendering. This blog is intended, for those who are involved, to be an opportunity to challenge one another, to challenge ourselves, and to connect with our contemporaries in the field.

I like the girl her body language suggest she is playfull and skipping or just beginning to run. I like the slight angel of her shoulders as she looks back. Just rework the dude this looks like a good layout.
I think if we have to guess at what his other arm is doing then the layout isnt finished. I know that this is just a sketch but looks like you spent alot more time on the girl. Try working out the environment first so that they both have a stage to play on. I think this will be a very charming piece when it is done.
Good idea. The anatomy will come in time. I have trouble with it also. The human figure is the most troublesome subject to draw for me and I think most artist for that matter. Keep up the life drawing. Also doing wire frames of the characters in the beginning will tremendously help you posing and getures. You'll get it ... You can also use your self as a model. I have actually photographed myself and used it as reference when I get in a rut. Or you can pay a friend five or so bucks to pose running. This is considered, "life drawing from photo reference." I shot images of my brother and sketched them to get familiar with drawing from different camera angles. One of my favorite is the "Up shot - where the camera man is on the ground shooting upward. Sense I did those studies I have sketched them to the point that I can do them freestyle now and with stylistic expression. Do it enough and you won't need it later. Hey what ever works.
By The Way...
You can see samples of my sketches from photos and how greatly this technique helped my out on my blog.
I put my photo reference sketches in this blog - all sketches on my website were done without reference. some of the drawings were done without reference but you should be able to tell the ones that were.
