Figure Drawing...

Hey Gang,
I did this monday night at a figure drawing session in Downtown L.A. I have been doing a great deal of drawing on my way to work. By the way I recently landed a job at a video game company. Life has been good. I usually draw at lease two people on the metro before work, then I draw all day at work and do 1-2 more people on the way home.

This year I am focusing on developing my drawing styles (some what like the old masters). "Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni" is my favorite currently. I really enjoy the variations in line weight. I will also be developing my volume/value rendering this year - you know the light and shadow stuff. I have decide to go back to the basics because you can never get enough of that stuff. Once I get to the point where I feel I can say " Look ---No Hands" I will carry these improvements to my character and creature designs.

This past weekend a slanderous email was sent out to all of our members on the behalf of a Marvin Mariano by some asshole using the pseudonym "Ken Trent" (draco6_200@yahoo.com). The mass emailing leveled a whole series of charges at Ken Lashley. I think it was pretty much a bitch move on the part of the sender seeing as how he had to hide behind internet anonymity. I hope he/she's reading this. If you're going to accuse somebody like that, grow some balls and show your face. If your intention was character assassination all you did was let us know that there's just one more pathetic hater out there. You should be ashamed of yourself! Now, since I wasn't there to witness any of these events that your "friend" Marvin says happened, I wouldn't have any grounds to comment but I've worked with Ken on a number of projects and I can tell you all that the guy is a professional. I wasn't going to comment when I thought I was the only recipient of the email but now members of this blog are asking me why they have to be subject to this kind of crap. Since I moderate this group I felt that I needed to speak up. Ken Trent (or whoever the hell you are) get a fuckin life and spare us any further mass emailing. Thank you

Birthday card

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything on here. I won't insult you with excuses. Here's a Berfday card I did for a friend. She asked to be drawn as a Boondocks character. It took about an hour. Hand drawn and scanned into Photoshop.

I haven't posted here in a good minute, and the ones in the mix know what the deal is. ;) It hard out here for a pimp. Had to kick the first post of 2008 on SBA here off strong tho and let you folks know I haven't forgot about ya.
